Speaking in London at the launch of the OECD's Economic Survey of the United Kingdom, Mr Gurria said that the plan 'strikes the right balance between addressing fiscal sustainability and preserving short-term growth. My message to the UK is, stay the course.'
Mr Gurria described the UK's fiscal position in 2009 as 'unsustainable'. 'The economy came into the recession off-balance, so was more severely hit.'
The report backed the Coalition's move to 'rebalance away from over-reliance on debt–finance and government spending towards more investment and exports.'
Graham commented 'This again highlights how isolated Labour are on the economy. Not just in this country, but globally. They are a lone voice calling for continuing with massive levels of borrowing. They have absolutely no credibility on the economy anymore.'
