The Government has also cancelled Labour's plans for an unnecessary and expensive revaluation, which could have lead to increased council tax bills on thousands of family homes.
Crucially, the Government has taken unprecedented steps to ensure that areas such as Halton are given a fair funding settlement and that the most vulnerable are protected, despite the necessary cuts. Halton now receives £580.63 per head from central Government, compared with Cheshire East which only gets £209.93 per head. Despite Labour's claims, Halton is now getting more funding from the Government than almost anywhere else in the country.
