The centre is run by private company InterHealth but its five-year contract expires at the end of May.
He said: 'Local NHS bosses have dithered about the centre's future.'
After talking to staff and patients, the MP has now written to NHS bosses calling for an urgent meeting to secure the future of the centre.
He added: 'It is clear that the treatment centre provides excellent local care and is highly-regarded by both patients and staff.
'It is absurd that the future of this state-of-the-art facility is mired in bureaucracy – this should have been sorted out long ago.
'I have asked NHS bosses to meet with me as soon as possible to explain how they are going to ensure that this building is not lost to the people of Runcorn.
'The NHS is one of our most important national institutions.
'That is why the Government is protecting spending on the NHS, and the high-quality care provided at the Treatment Centre fits well as part of a modern National Health Service.
'The Primary Care Trust must make the future of this facility an urgent priority for decision.'
