This will equate to a reduction in the council tax bill in real terms.
“We promised to cut waste and that is what we have done,” said Conservative Council Leader Mike Jones.
“We have saved over £43 million without cutting services and that means we can freeze the council tax.”
“For too long the council tax has been a stealth tax and we promised we would control it and this we have done.”
The tax freeze relates to the proportion set by the council and not the police, parish or fire precept which Cheshire West & Chester does not control.
Graham commented “This is great news. When all other bills are going up, a council tax freeze is a really big help to residents.”
“It’s great that we have a Council which is lowering costs while protecting services. I only wish that my constituents living under Labour controlled Halton Borough Council had such an excellent council as well.”
